Who we are
HealthKeepers Network (HKN), founded in 2009, is a nonprofit, local development organisation, registered in Ghana.
The HKN program is an initiative which provides unprecedented and sustainable access to life-saving health protection products and services along with information for the rural poor and the underserved populations. It builds on existing distribution networks (traditional and non-traditional) and the entrepreneurial spirit of community based distributors (CBD's), both men and women as well as the organisation's own expertise in the health training and service linkages in hard to reach communities. These men and women are known as "HealthKeepers". HKN provides its products and consumer information to rural underserved community on a reliable basis. All our interventions are evidence-driven to ensure that communities and vulnerable population are empowered to lead healthier lives.
HealthKeepers products include a mix of high-impact, reliably priced health-promoting products, especially for children and women. There are also selected personal-care items that are in demand and can contribute to the sustained profitability of the business and empowering especially the female entrepreneurs (HealthKeepers) to secure their futures with respected and profitable source of income,
